United's heat treating department consists
of ten gas fired car-type furnaces.  These
furnaces are equipped with energy efficient
pulse firing burners making them
environmentally friendly.

Manufacturing begins by uitilizing five
coreless induction furnaces ranging
from 15 to 35 tons in capacity.  The
total capacity of melting is 130 tons.

Each furnace has multiple
zones that ensure excellent
temperature uniformity.

United Foundries uses 
horizontal centrifugal
casting machines to
produce a duel metal
high quality cast rolls.

United has a complete machine shop
equipped with roughing and finishing 
lathes,horizontal millingand drilling 
machines, and finish grinders.

All of United's major equipment
is CNC controlled.  By utilizing
a complete CAD/CAM system
all roll casting design and 
finish programs are directly 
downloaded to the finishing
machines.
