United Foundries has been producing rolls for flat products for nearly one hundred years. United was one of the first producers to employ the static "overflow" technique to produce dual metal hot strip mill work rolls. United was the first to develop the horizontal centrifugal casting process for mill rolls. Today, several producers throughout the world utilize this United developed process. Flat mill static and centrifugal rolls are manufactured at both our USA and South American locations. |

Literally all of the new and proven older grades of roll materials in use are furnished by our plants. These include indefinite chill for the late stands of hot strip mills including the newer "enchanced" grades currently in the trial stage of several hot strip mills. For the earlier stands high chrome iron, high chrome steel, and high speed tool steel grades are all produced by United/SARCO. |
